Sean Anthony Tarr (born October 28, 1981) is an experienced programmer and professional Frontend Engineer and Engineering Manager, and a not-so-professional writer and music producer. He goes by the name Starr, or sometimes Starrzan, which symbolises the romantic view of his calling.

Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, and having resided in Fukuoka, Japan, for 2 years as a freelance programmer, he now lives in Paris, France, working as a Senior Front-End Developer. When not working, he writes poetry and fantastic tales, and at times tinkers with electronic music soundscape filled with beats and ambient melodies. And finally, when not doing any of these, he loves exploring both his surroundings and far-off mountains, with the call to adventure always drifting close to his heart.

His inquisitive nature and analytical mind has always driven him to learn and discover more of the world in and around him and proves a trusted and valuable ally in his professional venture of creating innovative, automated and easy-to-use applications for the web, be it a website or a webapp, and his main area of focus and expertise has been the interface between the user the and application, processing and displaying complex data in a intuitive and easy-to-use way to the end-user.

Thus far his musical works have been released under three projects, or aliases, sir nightowl where it started, The X-Structure with a quite a large number of albums, and, more recently, Soultrek and Starrzan, taking the exploration further into the unknowns of space and time.

His first foray into the world of written publications was a 5 book series of poetry, titled Thoughts Discovered, and was published over a period of two years, with the fifth and final volume, Greater Things, published at the end of March 2015. The first volume in this five-volume series, Love, Adventure and Other Noble Quests, was published in October 2013.
